Head over to the Shanti at 2 PM tomorrow (Saturday Nov. 8) as they auction of pieces of the business. If you haven't been paying attention, or you frequent the Shanti often on Tuesdays at 10 AM. the Soulard landmark is closing on November 29.
According to Zillow, the building at 825 Allen Avenue sold for $450,00 back in October of 2013. Another bar will open in the space occupied by the Shanti. The new owners of the building have ties to DB's and Sonny's.
Considering Shanti is still open for another 20+ days, I'm not sure what the "hippie bar" they will be auctioning off tomorrow. I do know that Teresa and the gang has a whole helluva lost of stuff that they've accumulated since they opened in 1999. The building has been a bar since the 1940s so there is no telling what's laying around.
