St. Louis SantaCon 2014 This Saturday

The annual pub crawl that is the 2014 St. Louis SantaCon will take place with Saturday through Soulard.

The fun kicks off at 5pm at Franklins Pub at the corner of 8th and Lafayette.

Here's the schedule

5p-6:30p: Franklins Pub

6:30p-8p: 1860 Saloon

8p - 9p: Molly's

9:30p-11p: Great Grizzly Bear

11p-Close: John D. McGurk's

SantaCon is held in cities all over the world. The local one was started several years ago by two women from Soulard, Natalie and Cara. If you go on the pub crawl, you'll meet both of them. Well, at least you should because they're awesome.

This year another Santa pub crawl, STL Santarchy, will be happening as well. That crawl has stops all through the day with the evening spent in Soulard. Beginning at 9p, Santarchy will hit Nadines, Joanie's, Bastille, Sonny's, Great Grizzly Bear, 1860 and Molly's.

Nationally, SantaCon has gotten a bad rap due to people being shitheads in other cities. If you are interested in coming out for this crawl, dress up in your best Santa, elf or other Christmas attire and come ready to meet new friends and enjoy Soulard. If you plan on being a shithead or tend to do that when you're drunk, everyone would rather you go somewhere else, like St. Charles.

Don't have a Santa suit? Through the wonders of the internet and Amazon Prime, there is still time to order one and get it here by Saturday. Or were you thinking a different Santa suit? Amazon also has some very nice looking options for the ladies.

Halfway to Mardi Gras Pub Crawl

The Mardi Gras gods have graced us with their words and announced that this Saturday there shall be a Halfway to Mardi Gras Pub Crawl in Soulard from Noon-5pm. The Rexs have cut a deal with Bud Light to offer food and drink specials throughout the Island as well as shuttles to take these summer revelers around.

The annual SantaCon Pub Crawl is this Saturday here on the Island.

The lovely ladies behind the event have been posting the specials to the Facebook page. Here's what we have so far:

Epic: 2 for $5 (Pick any 2: One-topping slice, garlic knots, draft beer)
Franklin's: $3 wells, $2.50 Domestic drafts and bottles, $3 "Santa Shot"
Llywelyn's: $2.50 Kraftig or PBR bottles, $2 mystery shots

SantaCons are held in countries around the world. The New York City one has been in the news lately because pretty much everyone not planning to dress like a Santa for it hates it. I would imagine the New York one must be a lot like the Angels' Arms Bar Bounce that goes on here.

If you're planning to get dress up in your Christmas Pub Crawl best on Saturday, you are likely not an asshole. If you are an asshole or a complete douchebag, I would advise staying away. I hear the SantaCon St. Louis ladies are basically ninjas.

SantaCon 2012

In case you didn't get enough Santa bar-crawling last week, this Saturday brings us SantaCon 2012.

The official page lists SantaCons happening in 273 locations in 73 countries.

The St. Louis edition of this event was started in part by two great Soulard residents. You won't be able to miss them on Saturday.

While food will be available at most of the bars along the crawl, Epic Pizza & Subs is offering up their 2 for $5 deal for SantaCon participants.

St. Louis Santa Crawl '12 **Updated**

The St. Louis Santa Crawl 2012 will be held tonight throughout Soulard. This is not to be confused with SantaCon, which is next weekend. 38 people have RSVP'd for tonight's festivities on the Facebook event page.

**UPDATE**
The Soulard Santa Crawl for charity is also happening today. This one starts at noon and runs all day however. Soulard is going to be packed with Santas all day and night.

Gleaming Toothfairies Pub Crawl July 16

I know y'all love pub crawls for good causes.  Here's a great one that someone was nice enough to forward me info about happening on July 16th.  $20/person.  Proceeds go to providing complimentary healthcare for children who can't afford it.  Did I mention that it involves free apps, food and drink specials?  And that you can dress up like the Rock in "Tooth Fairy"? Sounds like a great time.
