Patton Movin' On Up

If you've been following iLoveSoulard for a couple of years, you may remember the write-up on Spencer Patton. Spencer and his then-fiance Jiletta were living in Soulard where Spencer's better half worked at Llywelyn's. Spencer was drafted in the 24th round of the 2011 MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals. He played his college ball at Souther Illinois University-Edwardsville.

Patton started this season playing High Class A ball for the Wilmington Blue Rocks. He played 25 games in Wilmington, fanning 76 in 64.1 innings pitched.  Then he got called up to the AA Northwest Arkansas Nationals where he struck out 27 in 18 innings of work over 12 games.

Patton then got called up to AAA to join the Omaha Storm Chasers for the Pacific Coast League playoffs. The Storm Chasers won the PCL Championship 3-1 in the Championship Series.

Spencer and the Storm Chasers will take on the Durham Bulls at 6 pm tonight for the Triple A National Championship. The game will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network.
