Watch Mizzou Football Today At iTap

The Mizzou-Southeastern Louisiana game at 6pm today is only on  pay-per-view. You could pony up the $39.95 and watch it at home, unless you have Charter. A better idea would be to go to International Tap House and watch the game.

Gateway Tigers To Help Soulard on Sat

The Gateway Tigers, the local Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association, will be holding their "Homecoming Day of Service" this Saturday, Oct. 1. The Chapter has partnered with the Soulard Beautification Committee to clean up the Garden Center at Market Park here in Soulard. Today is a great day for football.  The best place on the Island to watch it all?  International Tap House.  That's where I'll be later for the Mizzou game at 7pm. $3 Missouri Beers during the Mizzou game.  Remember you can bring your own food in or order food and have it delivered there.

Tthe ESPN College Gameday crew is on the Quad in Columbia, MO today broadcasting live from this morning starting at 9am on ESPN.  8am on ESPNU. The word from the Twitter-universe this morning is that the Quad is packed. Chris Fowler said the scene is crazy.  Check for updates and pictures live from Columbia here and here

Here's the rundown of the big games today that will for sure be on the televisions:

• 11am: Duke at Virginia Tech
• Tech Alums have decided to make iTap their HomeBar as well for Hokie games so don't be surprised if you see some people grilling out back
• 11am: Purdue at Ohio State---Big Ten Network
• 11am: Notre Dame at Navy--CBS
• HomeBar for the STL area Irish alums is at iTap so you can bet they will be out in full force
• 2:30pm: LSU at Auburn--CBS
• 2:30pm: Nebraska at Oklahoma State--ABC
• Rumor is that having GameDay in Lincoln next week is "not off the table" if Mizzou and Nebraska can win this week
• 2:30pm: Wisonsin at Iowa--ESPN
• 6pm: Alabama at Tennessee--ESPN
• 7pm: Oklahoma at Missouri--ABC

Saturday 10/9 in Soulard

It's always a great time to be in Soulard, but here are some things happening today that I deem worthy enough to blog about at 2am.

• Soulard Oktoberfest 11a-12:30a
• Though moved to Lyon Park this year, this event is still a must-see. 2 Big Stages, 5 tents, 14 bands, and an expected 1,000 kegs of beer for your enjoyment.  $5 gets you in, $4 gets you a brat in a pretzel bun, and $10 gets you a liter of premium German beer in a fancy mug that you get to keep.

• Beer Fest: Raderberger &Tucher Tent from 3 to 5:30 p.m
• Sausage Eating Contest: Budweiser Stage from 2:30 to 3 p.m
• Beer Stein Holding Contest: The Spaten Tent from 7:30 to 8 p.m
• While parking may seem a bit odd with the new location, it really isn't that bad.  Best of all, it's free.  Find somewhere in Soulard, grab a beer in a plastic cup and walk to Lyon Park.
• Hammerstone's in Soulard was running a shuttle to Lyon Park on Friday, I imagine they will on Saturday too.  $1 Bud Select drafts and $2 Spaten
• International Tap House
• College Football 2:30p
• Notre Dame and and Pitt play on NBC and you can be sure that iTap will be packed with  ND fans 
• Alabama and South Carolina square off on CBS
• The Denard Robinson show is on ABC this week as Michigan and Michigan State do battle 
• Mizzou and Blues 6p
• You may have heard that because Dish Network and Fox are in a pissing contest, customers are out of luck if they have Dish and want to watch either the Tigers or the Blues today.  Have no fear because iTap has DirecTV and will have both games playing tonight for your viewing pleasure.Blues on Ch. 671 and Tigers on 657
• $3 Mizzouri Products during the Mizzou game.  That includes Schlafly and O'Fallon Pumpkin, FYI
• Oktoberfest Mugs All Day

Mizzou Game at iTap this Saturday 6pm

If you didn't already know, the Mizzou game this week against McNeese State is only available on Pay-Per-View.  Mizzou went to this a couple of years ago for some of their early season games.  I had a terrible time last year trying to find a good place to watch one of these games in town.  Getting the game for a bar is pretty expensive.

Luckily, Sean and Brad at iTap have you covered.  Both iTap locations (Chesterfield and Soulard) will be getting the game and offering $3 Missouri craft beers during the game as part of their M-I-Z-B-R-U series of events.  iTap is an excellent place to watch sports with 7 televisions across the bar and another 3 scattered around. Plus, you can't find a much better deal than a $3 craft beer on Saturday night.  So, I'll see y'all at iTap on Saturday around 6pm.  And remember:

Here's the email I just got from iTap about their MIZ-BRU event this Saturday. Remember you can also go in before the game and buy some beers to go for your tailgate on the cheap. I've been assured that it's "cheaper than Randall's"
