Monday begins Mardi Gras Season 2014

12th Night on January 6th begins the Mardi Gras season each year. This year, that falls on Monday. Cold weather that St. Louis has not seen since the 1980s is expected that evening. Mardi Gras, Inc, which runs the Mardi Gras celebration in St. Louis, has made some changes for 12th Night this year.

So this year the walking parade will not go through the northern part of the neighborhood with stops along the way for speeches. Hopefully next year the weather will cooperate.

While the season begins on Monday, the Grand Parade isn't until Saturday March 1. The month of February will be packed with events. The Wine, Beer & Whiskey Taste and the Cajun Cook-off will be moving back into the neighborhood this year and will be held under a tent at Market Park.
