Soulard National Night Out 2014

This Tuesday, August 5th is National Night Out across North America. The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) established National Night Out, otherwise known as "America's Night Out Against Crime", in 1984. The first National Night Out on August 7, 1984 counted 2.5 million participants across 23 states. The association's recent statistics say the event now includes 37.8 million participants in 16,124 communities.

Several neighborhood businesses are throwing a neighborhood block party between Great Grizzly Bear and 1860's on Geyer. Expect free food, live music, DJs, massages, tarot card readings and more. Feel free to bring your own dish to add to the free food buffet. The event is scheduled to go from 6 pm to 9 pm
