Soulard Cheer Station for Go! St. Louis Marathon on Sunday

Are you free Sunday morning, April 10th?  Come out and help cheer on the runners in the Go! St. Louis Marathon.  Here are the details, as put together by Jackie Hutcherson:
  • Where's our cheering section? 12th & Sidney.
  • What time do we start gathering? 6:30 a.m Sunday (April 10) It's early, but there will be plenty of coffee, bloody marys, mimosas and bagels to make it worth your while. We should be seeing the last of the runners by 8 a.m., and have everything cleaned up and shut down by 8:30 a.m. Zzzzzzz
  • What time does the race start? 7 a.m. Our cheering station - Soulard Pajama Party - will be situated a bit before Mile 3 of the marathon and half marathon.
  • What to bring? More cowbells, please bring 'em if you've got 'em. We'll have our voices, but any kind of noisemaker will also help spur on the runners. And anything that has a morning quality to it - be it a newspaper, a cereal bowl, crazy morning hair, a coffee mug, a blanket, a pillow, your teddy bear, a walk of shame... We are not here to judge, we are here to help win $1,000 for SRG
The Island was given $1,000 grant for hosting a cheer station for the race to encourage the runners.  At the end of the race, the full marathoners will have an opportunity for vote for their favorite cheer station among the five.  The winning cheer station gets another $1,000 for their neighborhood.  Clearly, these other neighborhoods don't know how to party like Islanders so, let's bring it.
