Last week we said goodbye to Market Grill. The restaurant opened two years ago at the corner of 8th and Lafayette and was overhauled a year ago with a new staff and new menu. "Market Grill 2.0" was led by Katie Shanahan as General Manager and Jonathan Olson as the Executive Chef. The menu featured Jon's signature farm to table approach with fresh locally-sourced food that was often a notch above the standard fare found in the neighborhood. Market Grill will be dearly missed as a part of Soulard. You could rely on the staff at Market Grill for great lunch and dinner, a great weekend brunch, the occasional random musical entertainment and funny quotes on their chalkboard out front.
