If you have visited the Bread Co. (Panera) on Broadway lately, you may have noticed the construction going on next door. One store have taken all of the available storefronts next to Bread Co. The prevailing word in the neighborhood is that it will be a "dollar store", most likely a
Dollar Tree.
Demolition began today on the building that obviously was once a Starbucks. That building is being leveled to make way for more parking, which will be much-needed when the Dollar Tree opens. Credit to
Tim for this picture. I have no clue either how a Starbucks location managed to fail.
Is anyone else in Soulard paying attention to these sorts of blunders? Why didn't the neighborhood association oppose this idiotic wasteful plan--for more parking!

ReplyDeleteThat area is technically not in Soulard. A Dollar Tree seems like a pretty good plan for that area to me. The Starbucks was already in a parking lot. Why not knock it down and just put parking spots there. Seems better than leaving the vacant building up.
